    Born in Texas in the mid-1920s, trumpet player Kenny Dorham is perhaps one of the most underrated performers in jazz history. Although not mentioned alongside the greats like Miles Davis, John Coltrane or Charlie Parker, Dorham was a favorite of fellow musicians and critics. His vast catalog includes almost twenty records as a leader and hundreds more as a sideman with legends like Max Roach, Thelonious Monk, and Sonny Rollins among others.
