Scott Glazer

Scott Glazer hosts The Midday Mix every Monday-Friday from 11am-2pm and The Long Drive Home every Tuesday from 5pm-7pm.

A native of Atlanta Georgia, bandleader, bassist/vocalist and ace sideman Scott Glazer learned music early at home from a singing mom, a coronet playing dad and old country grandparents who listened to music of the world including Italian, Hungarian, Yiddish, classical and cantorial recordings. A transistor radio was ever present in his early years.

Having begun to play bass at the age of 12, Scott received most of his early education on the bandstand in rock and blues groups. After years of playing professionally he had a hunger to receive a formal music education. Thus motivated, he studied at the School of Music at Georgia State University and attained a Bachelor’s degree. New worlds were opened through this formal education and styles including jazz, classical, theater became a part of his active professional music palette. While attending school, Scott rocked the classics for 4 years as house bassist at the highly successful Buckhead Saloon in Atlanta.
