Larry Larson

Larry Larson was born in Minneapolis, and attended the University of Minnesota before moving to Atlanta in the early 1970s. Larson’s first professional entertainment work was as the lead singer in the Atlanta night club band, Anthem. In 1973, Larson hung up his “Tom Jones jump-suit” and went to work for WQXI Radio (now Star94) as a writer and producer.  The acting bug bit hard in the mid-seventies and Larson became a member of the Academy Theatre acting company, where he wrote and performed in over thirty-five production in seven seasons with the theatre.  Upon leaving the Academy, Larson joined writing partner Eddie Lee creating original plays for the Souther Theatre Conspiracy and performing and writing for the award-winning “Bill Tush Show” on TBS.  As an actor, Larson has continued to be a regular on Atlanta professional stages.  He has also performed in numerous feature films and television movies, including the recent Disney feature, Mr. 3000.  Before hosting the AM 1160 Morning Show, Larson teamed with Joe Weber doing comedy features as Stefan Flambeau (and friends) on the previous incarnation of The Voice of the Arts– 1190AM.  He is the 2009 Loridan’s Arts Award winner for his ongoing contribution to Atlanta theater as an actor and playwright.

Larry Larson is the host of The Morning Ride every Monday-Friday from 7am-11am. He also hosts the weekly feature On Stage every Friday in the 10 o’clock hour.
