Backstage Atlanta with Scott Glazer
Phil Roy
Last Friday night in Atlanta in McKinnon’s Restaurant on a whim, I stumbled onto a piano bar populated with an enthusiastic crowd of all advanced ages. At the mic was an 80 year old working the floor and bumping while singing a song that sounded old but was unfamiliar to me. The whole scene was great but the song, “This Business of Love”, was fantastic. Turns out that song was featured in the Jim Carey movie, The Mask (1994). I called the – as it turns out, prolific – composer, Phil Roy of Philadelphia, the next day and he is our guest on this week’s Backstage Atlanta.
