Backstage Atlanta this week spotlights musician Joe Gransden.Gransden is a trumpeter, vocalist and band leader active on the Atlanta scene. Originally from New York, Gransden was inspired to play the trumpet by his grandfather, who played with the Harry James and Glen Miller Big Bands. Moving south in the early 90′s, Gransden established himself and currently plays several popular and long running engagements around town. Gransden speaks about his earliest influences, becoming a working musician in Atlanta, and how a friendship with Clint Eastwood led to a 2010 album being produced by Kenny G.
