Backstage Atlanta with Scott Glazer
Joe B. Mauldin
It was a pleasant surprise in the AM 1690 studios recently when Scott found out during an interview with Brian Hill, Exec. Director of the Atlanta Dogwood Festival that Hill’s father-in-law is none other that Joe B. Mauldin, a native of Lubbock TX and the original bassist with the Crickets and Buddy Holly – and that Joe B would be in town that Saturday! Joe B. was gracious enough to sit down and talk at length with Scott about his career with Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Buddy Holly, Waylon Jennings, Buddy Knox, Ed Sullivan and Mauldin’s subsequent career as an engineer at L.A.’s Gold Star Studios where luminaries such as Phil Spector and Ike and Tina Turner recorded.
