Active Tape

Ever wonder what goes on at the places and among the people you pass everyday? What happens inside a film projection booth? How does a blacksmith cling clang his hours away? What’s it like being a fly on the wall at a juggler’s convention? “Active Tape,” a new audio documentary segment on AM 1690, has the answers to these and other questions. Its short, non-narrated field recordings immerse listeners into worlds they may never visit, introducing audiences to compelling, untold stories and unique, and sometimes humorous, scenarios.

Hear the sounds of an afternoon’s search for surprise, theatricality and sometimes old fashioned good taste in matters of dress. Cameron Adams began the blog Atlanta Street Fashion two years ago and has been recognized for his efforts by both Atlanta Magazine and Creative Loafing. Like many former print journalists, he became a blogger to explore the future of the changing media landscape and chose street fashions from a life-long love of vintage clothing. His blog celebrates the everyday choices of people who manage their appearances to stand apart from the crowd.
