Since 1980, in mid-October of every year, tons of young, promising bands and music industry folks gather in New York City for the CMJ Music Marathon and Conference. Amongst the 1000 plus bands that play over this five day conference, only a few will emerge as the buzz bands of the moment, with the possibility of becoming a festival headlining act or having one of their songs placed in an iPhone or Cadillac commercial. By many accounts, the playfully-named Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr from Detroit, Mich. topped 2010′s roster.
