Persia White comes into the studio. She plays Abby Bennett Wilson on the CW’s “Vampire Diaries.” She’s also a talented musician, photographer and painter. Authors Peter Desberg and Jeffrey Davis call in on the Bat Phone. They wrote the book “Show Me the Funny: At the Writers’ Table with Hollywood’s Top Comedy Writers.” The pair interviewed more than two dozen successful TV and movie comedy scribes from throughout the past 50 years, from those behind “The Honeymooners” to “SNL.” Jon spins comedy tunes by Steve Martin and The Blues Brothers, and Dracula sings a ditty in honor of Persia White.

Stephen Platinum, a pro wrestling promoter for Platinum Championship, is the subject of the documentary “The Booker,” which plays at this year’s fest. He comes into the studio with Jonathan Williams, editor of the Atlanta-based blog “Wrestling With Pop Culture.” Williams is organizing the super cool after-party for the festival screening of “The Booker,” which doubles as the one-year anniversary for his blog. They talk about the event, the Website and the film. Local music legend Col. Bruce Hampton stops by later on and chats about “Basically Frightened,” the documentary about his life and career that’s screening at the Atlanta Film Festival, too. We also hear from Josh Bindon, a professional ice skater and one of the stars of “Disney on Ice: Treasure Trove,” which runs at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Col. Bruce Hampton and Disney provide the tunage.

Ty Forhan and Zack Manske talk about being young kids on the road, relating to the character of Billy and much more. Glass guitarist Ned Evett, whose latest disc “Treehouse” is now available, calls in on the Bat Phone and chats about his unique instrument and working with one his idols, producer Adrian Belew. You’ll hear a couple of tracks from Evett’s album, and since Elton John provides the score to “Billy Elliot The Musical,” Jon digs out a couple of his E.J. favorites from the 1970 disc “Tumbleweed Connection.” The latest installment of pop culture news spreads the word about “The Avengers” and the Ultimate Marvel Marathon, the “Robocop” reboot and one of the many surprises you’ll be able to find next month on Record Store Day.
